What Knock keeps about you, who else sees it, and how to delete it.
Updated October 22, 2026
What Knock keeps
Only what it needs to match and tailor for you.
- Your sign-in
- Your email address and name, held by Clerk, which runs sign-in. Knock keeps a copy, with when you joined and last visited.
- Your resume
- The file you upload and the profile made from it: your roles, dates, bullets, education, skills and links, plus anything you add yourself.
- What you're looking for
- Your titles, level, places and the other settings you choose.
- Your matches
- Which postings fit you, how well, and the status you set on each (saved, applied, interviewing and so on).
- Tailored materials
- The resumes, cover letters and recruiter notes you ask for, kept so you can download them again.
- Emails sent
- Which jobs were in each morning email we sent you, so none comes twice.
- AI use
- A record of each AI request made for you and what it cost, for the daily limits. Not the text of your resume.
- Invite requests
- If you ask for an invite, Clerk keeps the email address you enter until the request is approved or turned down.
Who else sees it
No ads, no analytics, and nothing is sold.
- The admins
- The people who run Knock see each person's name, email, counts of matches and applications, and AI spend, and can look at the data to fix problems.
- Clerk
- Runs sign-in, so it has your email, name and the usual security records (device, browser, IP address).
- Anthropic
- Its Claude models read your resume when you upload it, and your profile with one posting when you ask for tailored materials. Under Anthropic's commercial terms that data isn't used to train its models.
- Vercel and Fly.io
- Host the website and the engine that does the matching.
- Resend
- Sends the morning email, so it has your email address and the jobs in each one. Turn the email off in Settings or from the link in any email.
- Companies' job boards
- Knock reads their public postings. It never sends them anything about you, and never applies on your behalf.
Google sign-in and cookies
Knock asks Google for your basic profile and nothing more.
- Continue with Google
- Google gives Clerk your name, email address and profile picture. Knock uses them only to show who's signed in and so the admins know who you are.
- Cookies
- Only Clerk's, to keep you signed in and keep bots out. Your browser also remembers whether you picked light or dark mode.
Deleting your data
You can do it yourself, any time.
- Delete my data
- At the bottom of your Profile page. It removes your resume, profile, settings, matches and tailored files right away.
- Your whole account
- Ask the person who invited you; an admin can remove your sign-in too.
